Fall is the perfect time to get inspired in Philbrook’s backyard. Learn to forage for nature’s art materials in gardens strewn with vibrant fall color, then design works of art inspired by nature. Campers will experiment with botanicals to create homemade dyes, tinctures, paper and more!
Before Care Begins: 7:45am
Camp Check-In: 8:45am
Lunch: 12-1pm
Pick-Up: 4pm
After Care Pick-Up: 5:30pm
About the Teaching Artist: Amber Marie Deen
Amber Marie Deen is an educator, explorer, and multidisciplinary artist. Her work focuses on Spirit and the interconnectedness of Mother Earth to all life. Amber has assisted children’s learning and play for over a decade as an educator teaching dance, swimming, natural dyeing, nature immersion, multimedia art, and preschool.
What to Expect
A day at Camp Philbrook starts in our studios, but we quickly use the whole museum: art, gardens, etc. to explore what it means to be a creative thinker and maker. Our workshops are geared towards getting messy, working together and making space for every child’s ideas.
Here are a few things to know:
- We offer Before and After Care.**
- Campers must bring their own lunch, free of peanut products.
- We have a morning snack and afternoon snack built into each camp session.
- We use the whole museum, which means we spend ample time outside when the weather permits. Please arrive wearing sunscreen and bug spray.
- Your day at Philbrook will be filled with creative energy and fun! Please make sure to dress for mess and outdoor exploration.
**Before & After Care
Before & After Care is offered as a package for the camp week for an additional $30 per child. With the addition of Before & After Care to your ticket, you may drop your child off as early as 7:45am, and pick your child up at the end of the day between 4:00pm and 5:30pm
