Join visual artist Joel Daniel Phillips and poets Quraysh Ali Lansana, Ken Hada, Rose McLarney, and Candace Wiley in an evening of ekphrastic poetry celebrating the collaborative project Killing the Negative. During the evening’s program, the poets will perform their powerful works, giving voice to subjects of Depression-era photographs. Together, the poets and artist will discuss the project and the questions it raises of power, representation, and America’s narratives.
A book signing will follow.
