Join us as Lawton, Oklahoma-based artist Robert Peterson talks with Philbrook Director Scott Stulen about his influences and recent works, including a commissioned painting of iconic author Ernest J. Gaines to debut on a new USPS stamp celebrating Black History Month. After the talk, visit the artist’s exhibition, Robert Peterson: Homecoming. In addition to the original Gaines portrait, the painting “Tomorrow’s superHERo,” recently acquired by Philbrook for the permanent collection, will be on view.
