Views of Rome: Prints by Piranesi and Rossini

This exhibit looks at large prints made in the late 18th and early 19th centuries by leading Italian printmakers Giovanni Piranesi (1720-1778) and Luigi Rossini (1790-1857). These dramatic views of Rome and the surrounding countryside, complete with partially-excavated ancient Roman ruins, helped to create an enduring romantic image of the Eternal City.
