Native American Art

The essence of Native American art is the link it provides between spirit, myth and the natural world. Historically, art also provided the expression of a tribe's unique ideas and identity–ties to ancestry were rooted in color, material and design. Since the 1960s, however, modern Native American artists have become more open to new techniques while holding fast to the heart of their heritage.
