Seasonal Updates

Each season presents new and glorious botanical arrangements in
the Philbrook gardens. Visitors will delight in the colorful year-round
perennial displays and find inspiration for their own gardens as they
learn about new and unusual plantings.

2008 Spring Display: March 1- May 1

In the East Formal Garden: beginning April 1
  • 'Peach Frost' sorbet violas flower under 'Lilac Perfection' and 'Monte Carlo' tulips
In the South Formal Gardens: beginning April 1
  • 'Antique Shades' pansies flower under pink 'Precocious' narcissus and 'City of Haarlem' hyacinths.
On the Hillsides: beginning March 1
  • Many different varieties of daffodils are flowering on all the berms and hillsides
  • English primrose flowers along the walkways
  • Emerging iris, daylilies, and other perennial bulbs dot the gardens
  • Ferns, garden phlox, sedum, astilbe, lady's mantle, and celandine poppies begin their bloom
  • Deciduous azalea, fothergilla, deutzia, magnolia, redbud, lilac, and dogwoods begin their spring show
