Discover the art and science of dying natural fiber using colorful pigments extracted from plants, minerals, and insects. Participants will gain a foundational understanding of how dyes, mordants, and fibers interact to produce stunning and, often, surprising chromatic results. Class experiments include a variety of techniques to develop your own small ‘library’ of sample references. Additionally, each participant will complete 2-3 finished pieces and receive a resource guide for further exploration at home! All supplies are included with tuition. Beginner-friendly.  

About Stay Gold:
While open to all adults, Stay Gold classes are designed to center the experience of adults 55+. In keeping with the principles of Creative Aging*, these classes prioritize a distinct standard of instructional style, environmental accessibility, and psychosocial considerations intended to support older adult learners in the studio.
